Joann Snow Baldwin was born to the late Joseph and Mary Lou Snow in Parkton, North Carolina on October 2, 1950. She heard the voice of her Savior say, “Come home and take your rest.” She answered his call and God whispered, “Well done, my good and faithful Servant.”
Joann grew up in Parkton North Carolina were she was loved by many during her years here with us. Although she had many accomplishments she took pride and honor as being her own boos. She was a wonderful hairdresser for many years, but her most prized accomplishment was being the owner and operator of Ms. Jo’s Childcare located in Parkton. She graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with Associates in Early Childhood Education. She had three more classes at Pembroke State University before she would have received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
She was a very devoted member of Hatcher’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion church where she served faithfully on numerous boards. Currently serving as the Senior Choir President, she took pride in serving her church and freely and willingly.
Joann Snow Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sons (James, Carl, Alex Jr. and Anthony), 1 sister and 2 brothers.
A devoted family matriarch, Joann is survived by her husband of many years, Alex Baldwin; a son Ervin Baldwin of Georgia; sister and BEST FRIEND Maggie Britton (Curtis) of Parkton, NC; Two brothers Marvin Snow of Parkton; Harold Ray of Fayetteville; One aunt Beatrice Sharp of Dunn, NC; and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted relatives and friends. She had two special “ride or die chicks” Willow Mae Daniels and Mary Moore.
Joann Snow Baldwin will be remembered for her many philanthropic contributions over the course of her life. Above all she had a deep compassion for her “kids!
