Mr. John Willie McNeillOctober 8, 1926 ~ December 30, 2016 (age 90)
Mr. John Willie McNeill, was born on May 8, 1926 to the late Will McNeill and Rosean Brown, In Hoke County North Carolina. On the morning of Friday December 30, 2016, God saw he was getting tired and allowed him to quietly slip away to Glory. He is now resting from his labor to sweet reward.
John was educated in Hoke County public school. He was employed with Fort Bragg for six years, Burlington Industries for 16 years and JP Stevens for 18 years. Following his retirement he continued in his first love of farming, his fields were open to anyone who desired fresh homegrown vegetables. He took great pride in his garden. He loved his family, his church and his community. He served for several years at Center Grove missionary Baptist Church as the Sunday School Superintendent, making sure all the children in Duffie Community were in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. The back of his truck was always filled with children ready for church.
Awaiting his arrival around heavens throne is his loving and devoted wife, Helen Iren McNeill of whom they shared 53 years of marital bliss and love, and his parents.
He leaves to cherish his loving and profound memories three daughters: Mary H. (Charlie) Wells of Wagram, NC, Gwendolyn D. (Clyde) Bostick of Fayetteville, NC and Deborah Blue( King Blue Deceased) of Raeford, NC,; Four Sons: Leonard (Orena) McNeill of Red Springs, NC, John Willie Jr. (Doris) of Atlanta Ga. James Bruce of the home and Anthony (Tuwanda) of Raeford, NC. One brother in Law, Charles Clifton McNeill of Red Springs. 23 grand children 40 great grand children and 11 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and family to curry on his great legacy.
